As per agency reports, on Thursday 30th June, a tyre of an Amritsar-bound SpiceJet flight got burst causing a fire in the flight. The incident left one person injured who was attempting to control the fire.
This is the third time in this month where SpiceJet flight has been involved in such an event.
Earlier on 22nd June, a SpiceJet plane carrying 159 passengers on board preparing for take-off suddenly suffered a tyre burst at the Amritsar airport. Another unpleasant incident took place while landing at the Bagdogra airport in Siliguri city on 16th June, where SpiceJet flight observed a narrow getaway when the nose wheel tyre burst.
Moreover, on the contrary, by the end of the day, SpiceJet came forward to dismiss any such occurrence involving its flight to Amritsar from Delhi, and clearly refuted the reports claiming a tyre burst or a fire inside the aircraft.
In a statement issued by the airline, the representative affirmed that all the 75 passengers on board were completely safe. And it was the engineer at the ground who saw some smoke coming out of the right landing gear, sighting this, as a safety measure he used the fire extinguisher on the overheated landing gear, he said elaborating on the issue. He further confirmed that there was no incident of tyre burst or fire in the aircraft.
