December sales poorer than November – JK Tyre’s Chairman

Raghupati Singhania, CMD, JK Tyre and Industries is of the view that the sales of tyres will see a further dip in this month. Talking to a leading Indian Business News Channel he told about the difficulties the Indian tyre manufacturers are facing. He said that Chinese are dumping tyres at 25-30% lower, which in fact is lower than the prices of raw materials.

He also voiced concerns over the increasing imports from China. At present Chinese imports stands at 42% of replacement market of truck and bus radials. Mr. Singhania also told how the truck production has halted and tyre offtake from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) has stopped too. Further, the situation is getting worse with the cheap imports from China.
