In emergency situations, few people act wisely as per demand. The reason why most of us are unable to cope with the pressure in emergency situations is because of our inability to assess it perfectly. Besides, having no proper resources to act on time. So, here we will tell you how to repair tubeless tyre puncture in an emergency situation.
Before you actually start repairing tubeless tyre puncture, you must have these things stored in your car, basically
Tubeless tyre puncture kit:
1 – Pliers – To extract the object that caused puncture(s) in tyre(s).
2 – Puncture repair strips (There are plenty of Tubeless Tyre Puncture Strips available in the market nowadays).
3 – Puncture strip insertion tool.
4 – Blade/Knife – For cutting off the excessive strip that pokes out after you stick it on the tube.
5 – A good quality Rubber Cement (Puncture rubber solution tube).
Now see how to repair tubeless punctured tyre(s):
1 – First, properly inflate the tyres and locate the puncture(s) by checking for any sharp objects that might have caused the puncture. Because there are times when the case is not exactly of puncture rather of air leaked out of the tyres.
2 – If you find that there is some sharp object (nail, pin, thorn, etc.) then carefully remove it with the help of pliers. If any object (no matter even small) is left behind inside the tyre, it will surely puncture it again in some time.
3 – Now take the spiral tool and push it into the puncture in the clockwise direction. This will make it easier to insert the puncture strip.
4 – Now remove the seal from the puncture strip and push it through the inserting tool like you do with a needle and thread.
5 – Once you find that the seal strip is equal on both the sides of the inserting tool, take out the tube of rubber cement and apply it to the centre of the seal strip. As the inserting tool has a little gap at the bottom it allows the seal to be left behind inside the tyre.
6 – Now it is time to remove the spiral tool from the tyre and insert the inserting tool with the seal strip. Keep in mind that the inserting tool will not go completely inside. It will stop after its plastic bit of the handle touches the tyre, after this, it can be pulled out. At this point, the seal will be left inside the tyre blocking the hole in the tyre.
7 – The sharp blade or knife now must be used to cut off the extended/extra ends of the seal strip sticking out of the tyre for an even contact patch for the tyre.
8 – Finally, fill the tyre with appropriate pressure. And, you are all set to pursue your journey ahead…!
TIP –
Tubeless tyres are capable of covering long distances despite tyre puncture. Therefore, it is advisable to always keep a portable tyre inflator in your car as a backup to inflate tyres.
