5th December, New Delhi: VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. has recently started operations at its latest state-of-the-art truck manufacturing unit in Bagroda, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This facility is the 8th one in the Central Indian state for the company. It has been set up with the latest Industry 4.0 standards and connected machines following IoT methodology. The new facility was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. With this plant, VECV is on track with its vision to modernize commercial transportation.Â
VECV has become a front-runner in the development of a new Industrial Estate at Bagroda. It is expected that with the setting up of this truck manufacturing plant in the area a number of ancillary units too will spring up in the area. This will help in generating new employment opportunities for the local workforce. It is learnt that in the initial pages, this plant will have the capacity to manufacture 40,000 trucks. Â
Being one of the biggest investors in the state, VECV has helped in the development of Pithampur Industrial Area in the past in the mid-1980s. With the latest 8th plant, the company’s investment in the state has exceeded INR 5,000 crores mark. Moreover, due to VECV’s investments over 100 ancillary and other suppliers have come up for supplying parts in the manufacturing of trucks. All this has meant that VECV has generated employment opportunities for over 30,000 workers in Madhya Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his happiness at the opening ceremony of VECV’s new truck manufacturing plant. He also emphasized on the fact that this step will also help in the realisation of Prime Minister’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision that he is trying to achieve in the state of Madhya Pradesh. He further added that the trucks manufactured at this plant will have the same standards as that of any international companies. He also lauded Madhya Pradesh’s long-standing relationship with VECV and gave an assurance that the government will always make way for better industry policies.
Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV also gave his views on this occasion, he said, it’s a proud moment for the company. He expressed his happiness with VECV’s long-standing commitment with the state of Madhya Pradesh. He thanked the state government for providing a cordial atmosphere for doing business there. He also told that other than catering to domestic demand, the new plant will also be used for export markets.
