Apollo Tyres Inaugurates Two-Wheeler – Radial & Cross-Ply Tyre Facility

India being one of the largest economies in the world has developed a taste for premium motorcycles over the past couple of decades. Thanks to the increased earning and spending power of individuals, acquiring one has become almost hassle-free. With the growing demand for premium motorcycles comes the growing demand for aftermarket spares. Tyres too are no exception.

When a bike enthusiast thinks of changing the tyres, the names Michelin & Pirelli come to mind instantly. But there is an underdog in the Indian market that these global brands have to watch out for and should refrain from underestimating.

Apollo tyres! Yes, Apollo tyres as you all know has been in the Indian tyre industry for a quite a long time. But this tyre maker is the only Indian brand that has scaled the heights of exporting tyres to the European and American markets. They are the first company to introduce zero degree steel radial tyres in India and they have earned a spot for themselves in the PCR and regular 2 wheeler segment. Now, they aim higher to capture the market of premium tyres for premium motorcycles

Last year, Apollo tyres launched their prized Alpha tyre series that caters to the beastly premium segment bikes. Staying true to their word “Add more thrill to your beast” they managed to gain traction and to support the traction earned, they inaugurated their newest manufacturing plant that is dedicated only towards producing premium segment 2 wheeler tyres via zoom call on the 15th July 2020 due to the COVID -19 pandemic.

This new state of the art facility is capable of producing 30,000 motorcycle radial tyres and 60,000 motorcycle cross-ply tyres a month and is spread over a massive 10,000 sq.mt. Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, the facility is housed within the Limda plant and has a modular layout to enable easy expansion as and when the company needs to ramp up the production capacity.

The zoom call inauguration saw attendance from all across the country and was addressed by the Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo tyres, Onkar Singh Kanwar who shed light on the achievements of Apollo tyres till date along with the vision it has for the coming future. He also expressed his gratitude for all the support his employees have given in the journey to reach the place Apollo tyres has reached today.

The highlight of the short and crisp event was Sachin Tendulkar, who also addressed and motivated the Apollo tyres fraternity by sharing his experience of playing with a team as an example to overcome whatever may pose as an obstacle on their journey to success.

All in all, the quick yet exciting glance of their new facility coupled with their well-earned success so far across segments project a bright future even in the premium category. The rest, only time will tell.
