The company currently produces bus and truck radials in its plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. However, according to some sources, it is mulling to target other segments that include the production of passenger vehicle tyres. At present, the world\u2019s second-largest tyre maker imports such tyres from its various facilities across the world.<\/p>\n<p>Florent Menegaux, Michelin Group CEO has told that the Indian market is one of the fastest growing markets in the world yet the infrastructure is not sufficiently developed to allow increasing vehicle penetration. However, he also added that the current Indian government is breaking regional barriers for the flow of goods and the rate of road construction is increasing as well of late.<\/p>\n<p>The company has signed a pact with the Tamil Nadu government in 2009 for setting up the company\u2019s tyre manufacturing plant in Chennai. As of 2018, the plant rolls out about 30,000 tonnes of bus and truck radials per year.<\/p>\n<p>At the recent Movin\u2019On Summit in Montreal, Canada, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tyremarket.com\/Michelin-Car-Tyres\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michelin<\/a><\/strong> along with General Motors (GM) has unveiled an airless tyre prototype (called \u201cUptis\u201d) for passenger vehicles. The airless tyre is likely to be out in tyre markets around the world by the year 2024.
