The design cue of Yamaha R15 has been sourced from the larger capacity superbike Yamaha YZF R1 and gets the spruced up middle cowl and tail cowl pattern. Yamaha YZF R15 stands abreast to its rivals TVS Apache RTR 160, Honda CBR 150R and Bajaj Pulsar RS200.
Yamaha R15 employs partly analogue and partly digital instrument console with the large analogue tachometer seen as the centre of attraction. The digital display is loaded to the brim and is very easy to read. The aggressive riding posture is of great help while scorching the race track but in daily use, it gets a little arduous. The clip on handle bars and rear-set foot pegs result in sporty riding posture in sync with the DNA of the bike.
The motorcycle is powered by a 150cc displacement, single cylinder motor. The liquid-cooled and fuel injected mill pumps the power output of 17 PS and yields peak torque of 15 Nm. The high revving nature of the motor means the one has to keep it on the boil to extract the best performance out of it. Yamaha R15 gets the kerb weight of 131 kgs and the 6-speed transmission allows the bike to hit the speed above 130 kmph. Another important aspect of the bike is its amazing handling dynamics.

I have a R15 v2 also and a couple of CB125e’s but my pride and joy is the 1996 Aprilia RS250.
Do you guys still have two strokes in India? I grew up on RD’s RZ’s & RG’s.
