Tyrexpo Asia 2017 Singapore - Day 1 Highlights

This year’s Tyrexpo Asia started yesterday in Singapore. The event will take place between 21 – 23 March, 2017. This year’s 11th edition is supposed to bring more than 6,000 industry players from Asia-Pacific region. Moreover, about 250 firms from over 20 countries are also exhibiting at Tyrexpo 2017. All these players will discuss solutions to drive operational efficiencies and profits for businesses as well as best practices.

In the welcome speech, Andrew Tan, Project Director of Tyrexpo Asia shared that APAC region accounts for more than 60% of the global tyre manufacturing plants. Moreover, Asia is without doubt an important region for the global tyre market, with the presence of emerging economies such as Vietnam, China, India and Thailand, and is expected to boost the demand for the automotive tyres. An awesome multi-ethnic drum performance was given by YF team at the opening ceremony.

In Tyrexpo Technical Workshop a series of training and demo sessions for new tyre repair and retreading technologies were featured. HLT International demonstrated their latest body shop repair tools. HLT International also launched CompuSpot 900 Fusion, hailed as the next generation inverter spot welder for the first time in Asia-Pacific region. This is the first of its kind to introduce automatic material recognition and weld power setting, eliminating human error in the process.

In Tyre Talk seminar industry experts from Melangor and Asian Trucker participated in a panel discussion on Global Trade and the Tyre Industry. The session was moderated by David Shaw, Chief Executive of the Tire Industry Research. The Doublestar group shared their scratch, strike and puncture-resistant tests.
