As our country experiences drop in temperature in most parts. Therefore, the need for tyre check arises naturally, as it is with every seasonal change. Be it tyre’s sidewalls or its tread depth there’s lot that you need to check. So make sure you are aware of the following points while facing this winter season.

1. Visual Inspection –

There are two things that you must notice while doing a quick inspection of your car’s tyres.

i. Sidewall:

Your tyre’s sidewall may have chunks of rubber missing or you may notice that there is a bulge. There may be a broken cord inside the tyre that is responsible for that bulge. This can lead to tyre burst, so take your vehicle to an authorised dealership and get the problem sorted.

ii. Tyre Tread: Most of us don’t pay regular attention to this aspect of our car’s tyres. Thoroughly see that tyres don’t have “uneven” tread wear. If the wear is too much and you find the depth of the tread is very less then it’s time to buy a new pair of rubbers for your vehicle.

2. Tyre Pressure Check-up –

It’s very common that you all check tyre pressure regularly. But what you might not be doing is checking all four of those tyres. Yes, your tyre pressure needs to be even. If not, then make it even.

TIP – If possible buy a Tyre Pressure Gauge, this will make it easy for you to measure the pressure precisely.

3. Use Proper Tyres –

By this we mean always go for “recommended tyres” for your particular car. Many times we go for “cheap tyres over high priced ones”, but in the longer run it is not a good deal by any means. Every tyre manufacturer recommends a particular tyre for its various models. Also, if you live in an area that faces severe weather conditions then you must use tyres according to seasons or go for “all weather tyres”. When buying new tyres always read their description.
