The French tyre maker, Michelin Tyres has recently announced that it is looking forward to change its “brand identity” in the tyre market. As part of this plan, the company has unveiled its new-look logo “the famous Michelin Man (Bibendum)” which has now changed on modern lines. It is worth noting that Bibendum is one of the world’s oldest logo. The latest change to the Michelin logo has come after the year 2000. The new logo is based on new modern day drawing instead of old 3D rendering design.
Moreover, the Bibendum logo now comes with the company’s name and tagline. According to the company, for more than 120 years, Bibendum has conveyed to the people the company’s aims and goals to serve people in a better way. Because of this and the fact that now Michelin’s online presence is more than ever, the company has introduced the two-dimensional design of Michelin Man which will be easy (light) to download and give a good online experience to the customers.
Another important thing that the company announced was that by the last quarter of 2017, there will be two logos in use. One for the group brand and the other would be used for the Michelin’s sales experience including tyres, services and solutions. The launch of the second logo is expected by July-August 2017.
The new trademark, called “Bib in the World” is expressed in a new advertising campaign on the theme of “Michelin takes action.”
