The important drawbacks of over-inflating the tyres are:
● The ride quality will be significantly affected by over-inflation making it bumpier, especially on roads that have potholes.
● The tread wear will be uneven, meaning that the centre tread will be worn out faster than the side. This, in turn, will reduce the life of the tyres too. Giving a major dent on your pocket.
● Over-inflation will result in loss of traction because the tyres’ road contact will be reduced a bit. The centre part will be connected while the side will not be in proper contact with the road.
● Tyre blowout or burst chances increase with over-inflation as tyres heat up faster than at normal PSI levels.
● Last but not least, over-inflation can get you in serious trouble on busy roads as you may not be able to control the vehicle properly resulting it in hitting another vehicle or people on the roads.
To get the best out of your vehicle follow the owner’s manual recommended tyre inflation levels. As it will give you the best ride quality as well as keeping driver and passengers’ safe on the road.
