At the recently held 87th Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland, Tata Motors unveiled its new concept car TAMO Racemo which is a two-seater sports coupe. The car was unveiled in the presence of the former Tata Sons chairman Ratan Tata and newly appointed Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. Racemo is designed in Italy at Tata Motors’ studio and developed in India. Being a concept now, it is expected to hit the Indian roads by 2018.
TAMO is a new sub-brand of Tata Motors and Racemo is the first in the series of this innovation. Racemo will have some advanced features such as predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, advanced navigation and over-the-air updates using the Microsoft cloud-based technologies including Internet of things (IoT), advanced analytics and machine learning powered by Microsoft Azure.
Tata Motors recently introduced TAMO as part of its new passenger vehicle strategy. It is an incubating centre of innovation that works towards new technologies, partnerships and business models to define future mobility solutions. TAMOÂ operates on a low volume, low investment model to provide fast-tracked technologically advanced products.
As per the statement given by Tata Motors, Racemo is meant for adventure loving, risk taking, digitally native, mobile first technology lovers of India and it is also India’s first connected car. Tata also showed two more vehicles at the show, namely Tigor and Nexon.
