2017 Hyundai Verna, the most anticipated mid-size sedan, has now hit the company showrooms across the country. The feature-loaded 5th generation Verna is here to lock horns with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, VW Vento and the Skoda Rapid in the segment. All-new Hyundai Verna 2017 is equipped with a choice of 1.6 L petrol engine (Dual VTVT, 123 PS) and 1.6 L diesel engine (U2 CRDi VGT, 128 PS) mated to both 6-speed automatic transmission as well as 6-speed manual transmission.

1. New Hyundai Verna 2017 Engines and Specifications Retuned
Hyundai has offered its all-new Verna in 4 cool variants namely E, EX, SX and SX (O). Solely offered with 1.6 L, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains, the long-standing 1.4 L engine has been given a miss. Here the petrol unit gives out 123 PS at 6400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at 4850 rpm. Though the power production remains the same, however, it’s distributed at 100 rpm higher than the previous model. Moreover, the torque is also delivered at a higher rev point and has come down by nearly around 4 Nm. The diesel counterpart remains untouched in terms of power and torque output with 128 PS and 260 Nm.
2. 2017 Hyundai Verna Fuel Efficiency Increased
Fuel mileage numbers have seen a surge for good with 17.70 kmpl and 15.92 kmpl for petrol MT and AT respectively. Previously the MT variant offered 17.01 kmpl, while 15.74 kmpl was delivered by the AT variant. On the other hand, diesel MT variant delivers 24.75 kmpl, higher by 2.85 kmpl, and 21.02 kmpl, bettered by 1.94 kmpl, for the AT variant.
3. New Hyundai Verna Dimensions Amplified
Even the dimensions of the New Hyundai Verna see an increase. The new Verna gets a length of 4440 mm, which is greater by 65 mm compared to the previous model. Moreover, width and wheelbase, which were earlier 1700 mm and 2570 mm, witness a boost of 29 mm and 30 mm respectively, while the height remains intact. In addition to this, the fuel tank capacity has been extended to 45 litres from earlier 43 litres.
4. More Colors To Choose
In the past, it has been seen that colors remain specific to variants. But this time, there is no such restriction and all the shades are available across the New Hyundai Verna’s range. The vibrant colors include Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Stardust, Fiery Red, Flame Orange, Polar White and Siena Brown. Here, four colors, Fiery Red, Flame Orange, Polar White and Siena Brown are new entrants.
5. New Hyundai Verna Tyres And Wheel Size
The Hyundai Verna tyre sizes remain unchanged as before, while all the trims are provided with 185/65 R 15 steel wheel spare. Going by the trim level, E / EX MT get 185/65 R 15 steel wheel with wheel cover, whilst, the EX AT trim is endowed with 185/65 R 15 alloy wheel. The top end SX / SX (O) come fitted with 195/55 R 16 diamond cut alloys.
6. Amazing Standard Features
The all-new 2017 Hyundai Verna is supplied with some fantastic standard features across its variant range. This includes body colored wing mirrors, bumpers and door handles, adjustable front headrests, rear centre armrest with cup holders, manual AC, 4 power windows, tilt steering, dual front airbags, ABS, day-night IRVM, central locking, ISOFIX, front seatbelts with pretensioners, and electrically-adjustable wing mirrors etc. Although the vital safety features are offered as standard in the new Verna, the base trim comes minus any music system or speakers.

The South Korean car giant always promises feature-loaded cabins and new Verna is no different.
