Michelin Launches Pilot Sports 4 Tyres

In collaboration with some of the leading global car manufacturers, Michelin has launched the Pilot Sports 4 Tyres for premium and sports cars in the country. Famed for its production of high-performance and technologically advanced products, the new range of tyres are available across all authorised channels of the French tyremaker.

Speaking at the launch event, Mohan Kumar, Executive Vice President, Michelin India said that the Michelin Pilot Sports 4 is designed to give auto enthusiasts the pleasure of the true sport without any compromise on the performance, durability and safety. The innovation in technology that it brings to this tyre is an outcome of Michelin’s long association with motor racing and recently concluded Formula E. Besides its continuous expertise and R&D among the tread pattern, architecture and compounds has resulted in ensuring optimal usage of the contact patch with the road.

The newly launched Michelin Pilot Sports 4 is bestowed with the state-of-the-art technology. Some of its prominent features comprise of its unique sporty design, responsive, safe in braking on both wet and dry surfaces, minimum noise and highly robust.

Unique sporty design

Employing the ‘Premium Touch’ effect on its sidewalls, the Pilot Sports 4 appears to be velvet-like with letters and graphics arranged in a raised manner. To make sure the tyre is protected from sidewall and wheel kerbing damage, it gets wheel rim protector which also enhances its visual appeal.

Gives precise control

To boost up the driving experience and empower the driver with better handling and road grip, the Michelin Pilot Sports 4 gets the “Dynamic Response” having a belt with hybrid aramid and nylon underpinnings. This technology acts on the centrifugal force even at high speeds and helps the vehicle overcome it by providing the tyres with high-tensile, tension-resistant and immensely light-weight fibre to ensure the patch remains in contact with the road even at high speeds.

Acute braking on different surfaces

Since the Pilot Sports 4 tyres are made up of the new homogenous tread compound, its capacity to brake is greatly enhanced. To make sure it’s safe on dry surfaces, it gets FIA Formula E-based tread patterns helps it control braking on straight roads as well as corners. On the other side, it gets deep and wide longitudinal grooves enhancing its water draining capacity and thus, improving its braking capacity on wet surfaces.
