As per the expectations by the Suzuki Motor Corporation, India may grow to be the third biggest car market in the world by 2020, which can play a determined role in the growth of car manufacturing.
Maruti Suzuki holds around 50% of the passenger vehicle market in the country, and has just started the operations at the newly opened plant in Gujarat so as to raise its total production to 2 million units by 2020. The company is planning to introduce more new products in India which is still gearing up to meet its additional demands by increasing its production capacity.
The newly opened Gujarat plant is anticipated to have an installed capacity of 7.5 lakh units annually. Maruti Suzuki India’s units at Gurugram (Gurgaon) and Manesar have a total production capacity of 1.5 million units annually. MSI is also increasing its new product launches so as to strengthen its hold over the market. Earlier it had said that by 2020, it would bring in 15 new models.
