Maruti Ignis Launch - Price, Features, Specifications

Maruti Ignis Launch
So the wait is about to get over. And soon we will witness the official launch of the most coveted micro-SUV the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. The new compact car will join the siblings Maruti Vitara Brezza SUV and Baleno premium hatch at the Nexa dealerships in the country. Taking inspirations from the i-M4 concept, the company initially displayed the production version of Maruti Ignis at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The #1 passenger car maker’s first jibe at the compact entry-level crossover will proffer premium experience to its buyers.

Of late, Maruti has launched the trailer of ‘IGNIS ELECTRONATION! None-of-a-kind Car Launch Concert’. Here at the launch, Swedish DJ Axwell, will perform live in front of the huge gathering mainly consisting of the youths, who will turn up today in large numbers. The sub-four meter mini-SUV will lock horns with the likes of young SUV Mahindra KUV100, Datsun RediGo and the chartbuster Renault Kwid.

There are strong expectations that Maruti Ignis will be priced just over INR 5 lakh for the base variant, which will make it stand as the most competitive and most affordable premium car at the Nexa showrooms. The ace car maker, for the first time, went ahead with the unique concept of online booking for the Ignis, wherein customers can book their Ignis at a booking amount of INR 11000.

To attract the maximum number of millennials in the country, Maruti Suzuki has offered loads of customization options at the exterior and interior of the car. The safety has been one of the highpoints of the compact car, which has been offered with numerous standard equipment like dual airbags and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), 15-inch alloy wheels, Nexa safety shield, force limiter and isofix alongside front and rear impact shield.

The new-age SUV stance, Maruti Ignis dons features such as uber-cool LED projector headlamps, carbon-fibre detailing, 7” touch screen infotainment system with mirror link together with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As of now, the Automatic transmission choice will be available in both petrol and diesel powertrains, moreover, the much-sought All-grip 4WD system may be introduced in a couple of month’s time.

Packed with the duo of tested engines that provide services to the Baleno and Swift, the 1.2L VVT petrol mill delivers a fuel economy of 16-20 kmpl approx. Moreover, the frugal 1.3L DDiS diesel engine is set to give out a mileage 22-26 kmpl approx. Both the engine choices will be coupled with the choice of a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox. Maruti claims that the newly-developed light platform for the Maruti Ignis is more robust, more reliable and more fuel efficient.

Just wait and watch Maruti might have got the winner at hand AGAIN….!
