American tyre major, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has recently announced major shuffle in its top management. The company has appointed Ryan Patterson and Chris Delaney as two new leaders for its strategic business units worldwide.

Ryan Patterson, who has been president of Goodyear’s North America consumer business since September 2014, has been appointed as company’s President for Asia Pacific business unit. Chris Delaney, earlier headed Goodyear’s Asia Pacific business, has been named the president of Goodyear’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business unit. Delaney joined the company in the year 2015 and now precedes Patterson. Moreover, succeeding Patterson will be Scott Rogers, who has been named to head North America consumer as president. Since 2009, Rogers has been serving as the CEO for the North America consumer business. All the aforementioned changes in the company hierarchy will apply with immediate effect.

On the assignment of new roles, Goodyear Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Kramer said, “With the announcement today of new roles for Chris, Ryan and Scott, we are placing proven Goodyear leaders in key roles that will enable us to further execute our strategy, deliver on our business objectives and create sustainable value for our shareholders.”

Ryan Patterson Goodyear TyreAged 43, Ryan Patterson started his career in Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company way back in the year 2002 with roles of increasing responsibility in Latin America. He has been a part of Goodyear’s North America leadership team and has handled important designations such as Finance Director, Consumer in 2008, followed by Vice President, Consumer Operations and Customer Development in 2012. In his latter role he was given the responsibility to guide the consumer organization’s channel sales and customer marketing teams, alongside was also accountable for bringing in potential strategies and better services to Goodyear’s customer. Since September 2014, he held the post of president for the North American consumer tyre business. Patterson’s consumer-driven strategies and focus on high-value segments proved immensely fruitful for Goodyear’s North America business. Under his bright leadership, Goodyear went on to become better suppliers to its North America customer base.

Chris Delaney Goodyear TyreVeteran Delaney joined Goodyear in August 2015 and since last two years has been heading Goodyear’s Asia Pacific business. His seasoned acumen in the business has delivered record results alongside helped company to increase its brand value. Under his unblemished tenure, Goodyear went on to strengthen its leadership position in major emerging markets in the region. Many award-winning tyres and improvement in the company offerings are some other highpoints of his leadership. The guidance of Delaney helped Goodyear expand its retail footprint across China, which led to company’s increased product penetration in potential cities in the state.

Prior to Goodyear, Delaney functioned as the Chief Executive Officer for Goodman Fielder Limited, a famous and largest food giant in Australia and New Zealand. He also possesses experience in sales and business development in Europe for Procter & Gamble, a well-known US consumer goods company. His staggering performance in sales earned him the position of Vice President and General Manager, Middle East, for Procter & Gamble. He also successfully steered the international sales of Campbell Soup Company, and was later appointed as the President of the company for Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific.

Aged 48, Scott Rogers, came on board in the year 2009. Since then he has functioned as Chief Marketing Officer for Goodyear North America business. In addition to this role, he has taken up further responsibilities, which comprise of racing tyre business and guiding company-owned retail stores in the region. Rogers has got a competent track record of more than two decades under his belt. He maintains expertise in leading, fortifying and developing strong global brands in highly competitive segments. He has been cross-functional in the areas like marketing, sales, e-commerce, guest experience, market research and retail alongside delivering result-oriented practices across varied distribution channels.

Jean-Claude Kihn Goodyear TyreThe new appointment announcements and proclamation about the retirement of Jean-Claude Kihn, current president of Goodyear’s EMEA business, later this year were made in unison. Kihn started his career with Goodyear three decades ago and held key roles in the technology and business areas, which also comprise of chief technical officer, president of Goodyear Brazil and president of Goodyear Latin America.

After joining the company in the year 1988 at the Technical Center (now Innovation Center), Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Kihn, 58, has been positioned in a variety of senior leadership roles in his career span of thirty years at Goodyear. His assignments in the 90s included the research and development of commercial truck tyre. First, it was developed for Latin America and later on for Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa in 1994 and 1996 respectively. The year 2005 saw Kihn became the General Director of Goodyear’s Technical Center in Akron, and three years later he was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.

During his career, Kihn also held important positions in Goodyear’s Asian and Latin American business units. In 2003 he was named as Managing Director of Goodyear Peru, while in 2013 he held the same position in Brazil. A year later he became president for Goodyear Latin America prior to moving to a similar role in the EMEA business.
