Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and NASCAR have once again entered into the multi-year sponsorship contract. The announcement about the renewed agreement was publicized lately by the two entities. With this new agreement in place, Goodyear will once again function as the exclusive and official tyre supplier for NASCAR’s top three national series. The unremitting partnership of Goodyear and NASCAR, which started way back in 1954, is one of the longest-running sponsorship programs in any major sport.
On the six-decade-long relationship, NASCAR President Mr. Brent Dewar said, “We proudly join Goodyear in celebrating our renewed and longstanding partnership. For more than half a century, NASCAR and our teams have trusted Goodyear tyres. Our partners’ commitment to innovation and excellence plays a key role in our unyielding pursuit to deliver the best racing product in the world,” he further added.
Since the inception of the partnership, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), an America based sanctioning body for motorsports in the United States, and leading American tyre manufacturer, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company have been instrumental in infusing latest innovations in the motorsport. The association introduced racing slick in 1972 and radial tyres in 1989, while the year 2013 saw the initiation of the multi-zone tread design. These advancements have resulted in the delivery of compelling racing to the motorsport buffs.
Over the decades, NASCAR has functioned as a testing ground for Goodyear, as they perform through some of the most arduous and demanding conditions. The apt expertise and research that goes into the making of a tyre to survive and perform in those difficult conditions aid Goodyear in the manufacturing of consumer tyres, and at the same time differentiate itself from its competitors.

During the course of association tyre industry leader, Goodyear has amplified its awareness among the NASCAR’s avid fan base. As per the 2016 NASCAR sponsor loyalty survey conducted for Sports Business Journal / Daily by Turnkey Sports & Entertainment, Goodyear has been the most renowned sponsor in NASCAR for five years in a row.
