Day after day the 2017 Dakar Rally is inciting high levels of exhilaration and anticipation. At the end of two specials of the Stage 8, Sherco TVS Factory Rally team’s Joan Pedrero Garcia has finished at the 5th spot. The race was between Uyuni and Salta locations where he completed only 6’00 behind the frontrunner. The race was more than fantastic for the Sherco TVS rider that made him move up to the 20th position in the standings overall. Moreover, the other high flier Adrien Metge, finished with 25th spot in the stage at 21’42. Metge is now placed at 38th rank in the overall standings.
The marathon race has been an uphill task for all the motorcycles; as a result they were too tired after the 1600 kilometer long race that consisted of two stages of the marathon. The mechanics have examined them thoroughly and gassed them up alongside all the bikes also went through the oil change procedure as there is still a distance of 350 kilometers to Salta that is yet to be covered.
In the special route Joan raced splendidly bearing out the fact that he is a strong contender and his bike is also doing remarkably good. However, Adrien’s run was not as smooth, as he got jammed on the route and also wandered for some time off the track. Here he lost time, but fortunately managed to get back on the track in time and tried his best to make up for the lost time by racing swift.
On Wednesday, the 9th stage of the event will be between Salta and Chilecito locations. It is an overall distance of 977 kilometers, which comprises of a 406 kilometers of special route).
