Dakar Rally Update Day-11 Stage 10 – Sherco TVS Factory Rally Team’s Adrien Metge Attacks Then Relaxes

The 10th stage of the Dakar Rally was a mixed bag for the Sherco TVS Factory Rally team’s Adrien Metge and Joan Pedrero Garcia, however, the stage ended on a promising note. Marc Coma, the race director had announced that the long special and navigation was very strenuous. Adrien Metge started off very well and was leading the charge at CP1. He kept his eye on the navigation and got a strong hold on the right track and continued to roll at a good tempo.

At the beginning of the special, he was at the third position, after which, to save his bike from the scorching temperature of +50C, he decided to pull back. In the end, he finished at 7th spot 8’18 ” behind the leader. With this, Adrien Metge has climbed up to 26th position in the overall standings.

Joan Pedrero Garcia, on the other hand, set off convincingly this morning. With the onus of 5th place on his back, he rode swiftly, however, while racing a navigation error occurred, which took away his vital lost 30 minutes. He then continued to attack for 10 minutes in order to make up the lost time. Finished 16th at 26’30 ” behind the leader, he has now moved to the 16th place in the overall classification.

The two bikes have reached San Juan in upright conditions, while things are going well for the Sherco TVS Factory Rally Team. And now it is all prepared to enter the subsequent stage.

The Friday, 13th January 2017, will witness the penultimate 11th stage. The race will be conducted between San Juan and Rio Cuarto locations consisting of 754 kilometres including a 288 kilometer special.
