The theme of the first ATMA Annual Convention 2018 is “Tyre Industry – Taking India to the World”. The event will be held in New Delhi on 7th February.

The first ATMA (Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association) Annual Convention which is slated to be held on 7th February 2018, in New Delhi, is expected to become the flagship event of the Indian tyre industry. The theme of the event is “Tyre Industry – Taking India to the World”.

According to Satish Sharma, Chairman of ATMA, the tyre industry has played a role as a leading sector in manufacturing and is now at a point of significant growth. Recently, the tyre industry has seen over Rs. 45,000 crores of investments. The convention will represent the belief and conviction that Indian tyre industry will be the world class manufacturer on its own.

The ATMA convention will bring together various stakeholders such as tyre and automotive industry leaders, government officials, thought leaders, consultants, policy makers and top management of tyre industry raw material partners on one platform. The discussion among them will help to draw out the policy for future while simultaneously discussing the current realities and future expectations of the tyre industry.

An important feature of this convention would be the release of a research report by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Suresh Prabhu, on tyre industry’s export achievements, competitiveness and policy enablers which could help to accelerate industry’s growth.

A special award has also been constituted to reward and recognise an institution or a person who has contributed outstanding services to help the tyre industry in meeting its objectives of a safe and improved road transport.

Also, the ceremony will witness Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO NITI Aayog presenting 5 Fleet Management awards that will be conferred in the fields of Drivers’ Training and HR Practices, Adoption of Efficiency Measures, Corporate Social Responsibility, Safety Initiatives and Adoption of Technology/Telematics.

ATMA is one of the most active national industry bodies in the country that represents Rs. 55,000 crore automotive tyre industry. The members of ATMA include 11 large tyre companies comprising a mix of Indian and International tyre majors that represents more than 90 percent of the production of tyres in India. ATMA members include MRF Tyres, Michelin Tyres, Yokohama Tyres, Goodyear Tyres, Apollo Tyres, TVS Tyres, Bridgestone Tyres, Continental Tyres, Birla Tyres, CEAT Tyres, and JK Tyre and Industries.
